This position is part of the Finance Infrastructure Team (FIT), our Center of Excellence for delivering and supporting business application solutions for the Finance organization. Our responsibilities include project management, business requirements gathering, business process analysis, defining/validating functional specifications, test planning and coordination, day-to-day functional support, and communicating to key stakeholders. We also own the Finance 3yr systems and capabilities roadmap.
In this role you will help continue our Finance digital transformation program and integration with AMD. In the short term you will help lead our efforts to automate a key pricing process related to ASC606 revenue recognition using Knime. You will also help us update our Snowflake data sources and transformations to work with our new S4/Hana environment and help in our transition from Tableau-based reports and dashboards to PowerBI. For the longer term you can help us utilize statistical algorithms and machine learning to drive predictive analytics, automation, and other new reporting capabilities.
Lead business analysis and modeling activities by interviewing process owners, users and other stakeholders to identify business processes and workflows; document findings and recommend infrastructure-supported improvements that can deliver improved efficiencies and/or more insightful reporting and analytics.
Identify and prioritize key business use cases that can be better supported by automation or improved data analytics capabilities. Collaborate with IT to find and implement solutions that address the higher priority use cases.
Resolve issues between stated business requirements and what is technically feasible by identifying issues, evaluating alternative solutions with IT and users, and communicating the end results.
Work with the business users to develop test plans and procedures, validate solution designs, and define acceptance criteria with the overall project team.
Help to test new reporting solutions as required by project timelines. This also includes supporting stakeholder testing.
Act as a functional expert and support Finance users who will be accessing our various business applications and reporting tools. Create and support a variety of reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools and Finance data sources.
Support for ad-hoc projects as requested
The selected candidate should have a passion for data and analytics and should have demonstrated a natural aptitude for business systems and reporting tools. An undergraduate or MBA degree in Finance, Management Information Systems, or Accounting is required, and 3-5 years work experience in a similar role is preferred.
Strong problem solving, financial modeling, business acumen, teamwork and communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a dynamic cross-functional environment are also required. Hands on experience with Python or other programming languages as well as BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI are highly desirable. Expertise in schema design, developing data models and proven ability to work with complex data is also desirable.
