As a Staff Product Applications Engineer, provide technical support for Xilinx ACAPs, FPGAs and Adaptive SoCs such as Versal and Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC as well as PetaLinux, Vitis and their drivers, libraries and BSP’s. Interface directly with customers, field engineers and factory engineering groups to rapidly resolve complex technical issues enabling customers to proceed with their designs and improving Xilinx products along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct technical support to customers on critical design issues with a focus on embedded software

  • Work in a team environment to identify customer problems and propose appropriate solutions

  • Provide customers advice on alternative design techniques and the implementation of alternative solutions

  • Provide information and data on a variety of Xilinx products; provide solutions for specific customer needs; and work on specific tactical projects for key design programs

  • Coach customers on embedded software techniques

  • Generate application notes, reference designs and answer records

  • Handle customer escalations and tactical software patch requests worldwide

  • Summarize and provide customer feedback to engineering and marketing

Xilinx is a US federal government contractor and subcontractor. Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field

Experience:

  • 8+ years embedded software design experience using Linux with SoCs or FPGAs.

  • Building, debugging and deploying complete embedded Linux systems from source, including bootloaders

  • Use of U-Boot, Linux kernel, root filesystems, device-tree, QEMU and XEN/KVM hypervisors

  • Experience in C/C++, shell/Python scripting

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • High initiative and self-starter

  • Ability to communicate technical information in an organized and understandable fashion

  • Customer oriented approach with a demonstrated concern and desire to work with and assist customers

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and track many activities

Preferred:

  • Experience with Versal ACAP, Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices and Xilinx Vivado, Vitis and PetaLinux tools
