Job Description:

We are looking for a talented, self-driven, and motivated system software/hardware design applications engineer to be part of the Xilinx silicon validation and applications team. This team develops system level design and infrastructure to drive and validate solutions and to provide user guidelines for processor-based SoCs with high-speed network on chip, coherent interconnect, VLIW-based processor systems on emulated and silicon platforms.

Silicon validation engineers vet front to back design flows, which include baseline functionality to complex SoC-based systems that integrate robust algorithms and features. Our systems include Arm v8-based designs and image processing pipelines, intelligent processing (machine learning) in the DSP processor systems, compressing/decompressing that require both system specific and algorithmic knowledgebase.

In this team, members are routinely involved with cross-functional teams in all aspects of software and silicon product development, system architecture utilization, implementation of designs for the products, testing, product documentation, and product support. You will be involved in state of the art machine learning, 5G technologies, acceleration of compute, storage, and networking. Qualifications:

Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent with 2 plus years of relevant industry experience or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent field.

Competencies

  • Excellent team communication and writing skills.
  • Analytical skills and enthusiasm for problem solving with good judgment in customer-facing situations.
  • Effective at requirements analysis with ability to manage multiple tasks and to appropriately prioritize.
  • Acumen for integrated software and hardware product development and test. Experience with SoCs, including Arm processor systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with FPGA and SoC design tool flows, including simulation and debug. Knowledge of Xilinx Vitis/Vivado design tool flows is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with one or more RTL coding languages (Verilog or VHDL).
  • Knowledge and experience with one or more programming languages C/C++.
  • Fluency in scripting (Tcl, Perl, or Python).
  • Knowledge of board design (signal transmission) fundamentals and experience with lab equipment such as an oscilloscope.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as JTAG, SPI, and I2C.
  • Knowledge of flash memories (QSPI flash or eMMC/SD) is a plus
  • Experience with Linux-based boot flows and systems development.
  • Familiarity with kernel frameworks, data structures, algorithms, graph theory, and neural networks are pluses.
