Staff Software Development Engineer

We are looking for an experienced software engineer that shares our enthusiasm for leading next generation automation infrastructure that enables reliable software validation.  Our mission is to enable efficient and high quality software production through solid DevOps infrastructure and best practices.

We are part of Central Engineering team and our team designs, develops, and maintains Board Farm infrastructure that enables high volume regression testing of PCIe based Xilinx GPUs. These designs  are integrated in Intel/AMD servers which are deployed by next generation cloud infrastructure providers. We use the latest technologies to provide high productivity, reliable performance and best in class SLA to our users.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Extensive experience in the Shell and Python programming languages
  • Very good understanding of Data Center server architecture and Linux administration
  • Fully self-sufficient in software development concepts and methods, coding, and debugging
  • Proactively engages with users to identify and deliver against new automation opportunities
  • Proactively identifies and delivers solutions that reduce development and support costs
  • Capable of developing a single project in its entirety
  • Demonstrates flexible adaptability in working with still maturing, generation-dependent software development and testing methods
  • Critically assesses product requirements in assigned area of responsibility with respect to feasibility and schedule and engages with stakeholders to iterate and refine
  • Executes independently to develop mock-ups or requirement prototypes for features of moderate to high complexity. Can effectively articulate these to relevant stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoys working with users to educate and provide guidance in helping them to achieve their goals and to improve their productivity

Education Requirements:

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8  plus years of relevant industry experience or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related equivalent field with 6 plus years of relevant industry experience.

Qualifications:

Must have work experience, coursework, project background experience in the following:

  • Python Programming
  • Shell Programming, Bash scripting
  • Object Oriented Design
  • Linux Operating System / Command Line Interface
  • Dynamic web-based application development (HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, AJAX, JSON, XML)
  • SCM: Perforce, GIT
  • Docker
  • Bash/CSH Scripting
  • Testing Methodologies

 Desired Skills:

  • Experience building, scaling & monitoring infrastructure needed for SaaS based application and services
  • SQL knowledge, NoSQL knowledge
  • ElasticSearch
