Sr Commodity Manager:  Global travel and corporate credit card strategy


This role will provide strategic vision, create and maintain key internal and external partnerships, and work to optimize the global travel and corporate credit card programs to meet company objectives.


The person for this role is an energetic, out-of-the -box thinker who is experienced in global travel management, vendor/partner management, monitoring industry trends, and adept at influencing key stakeholders with new ideas and building strong relationships across the business.  The person is also experienced in developing and administering usage of a global corporate credit card program.


 


The person must be an excellent communicator and can effectively engage with employees at all levels, exercise good business judgment, and has the ability to work both strategically and tactically with multiple cross functional teams and different cultures.


 



Responsibilities but not limited to:


  • Develop and drive global strategy and best practices to meet corporate objectives

  • Negotiate commodity contracts, with related suppliers (airline, hotel – long term housing, car rental, corporate events, small meetings venue and Banks) to ensure we maximize quality and value at competitive pricing

  • Manage key relationships for related supplier including contracts, audits and reviews for both global travel and corporate credit card programs 

  • Develop and update all corporate policies that impact travel program and corporate credit card programs

  • Collaborate with Corporate Security & HR on joint efforts to ensure a duty of care and wellbeing for all employees when traveling on company business

  • Develop and present new strategies to drive greater cost savings/containment and improve business traveler experience across the organization. Create measurement metrics to track global supplier performance, employee experience, and savings initiatives while identifying improvement opportunities

  • Coordinate internal and external communications with stakeholders and third-party representatives

  • Manage virtual function to support card and travel tactical activities

  • Source small meeting venues, and negotiate contracts

  • Benchmark and survey global employees to ensure exceptional traveler experience in each region


Preferred Qualification


  • BA/BS or above

  • 10+ years’ experience with global management of TMC, global sourcing programs, card programs and/or expenses programs

  • Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies

  • Knowledge of T&E reporting and processing

  • Strong planning, organization and communication skills

  • Proven program management experience
