The Xilinx Research Labs in Dublin, Ireland is a small dynamic part of Xilinx, the world’s leading supplier of programmable logic solutions. We are extending the AI team which is conducting cutting-edge research in topics which push the envelope of FPGA performance. We are investigating novel machine learning algorithms, mappings and novel architectures for all programmable devices. The application domains include IoT, automotive markets and data centers. We are working to make deep learning faster, cheaper and greener together with leading customers, start-ups and world-class universities. We analyze, prototype and evaluate key concepts while creating and experimenting with new programming paradigms, leveraging machine learning frameworks. In close collaboration with the engineering organizations, we also research architectures for next generation devices and contribute through performance modelling and analysis of driving applications. In this role, you work closely with the other researchers within the team to create and evaluate novel ideas. The specific activities can be diverse ranging from analyzing case studies, designing and training new ML algorithms that are faster and more energy efficient, developing new tools, performance modelling, to presenting results and writing reports, publishing papers or submitting patent applications as appropriate.
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience and understanding of one of the following fields:
Comfortable with design & training of neural networks with one or more of the common frameworks
High Performance Computing
Signal processing, or image processing
Architectures for dedicated high-speed applications
Some exposure to concurrent programming and demonstrated programming skills
Basic understanding of computer architectures and run-time systems
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Strong analytical skills
Flexibility, interest in technology, eagerness to learn, with a good attitude towards work
