North America Payroll Manager

 

As part of our global accounting organization, the North America Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the payroll process and ensuring timely and accurate postings for all US and Canadian payroll related activities.

 

This position will be responsible for the semi-monthly payroll functions in the U.S. and Canada.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Day-to-day oversight of the payroll processing team

  • Responsible for payroll accuracy and timeliness

  • Ensure 100% compliance with existing internal controls

  • Responsible for ensuring that all payroll processing controls and narrative is kept up to date and accurate

  • Prepare payroll scorecard on key payroll metrics

  • Support Oracle HR system that feeds Payroll information

  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Process timely and accurate garnishments

  • Review and approve reconciliations of payroll related balance sheet accounts and related journal entries

  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve productivity

  • Responsible for accurate year-end payroll close and W-2, T-4, RL-1 processing

  • Manage payroll related audits

  • Process employee transfers / expats / shadow payrolls by working with Global Tax Network

  • Provide support to company annual proxy filing

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5-10 years of managing a US multi-state and Canada multi-province payroll department

  • Working knowledge of payroll software platforms, including ADP ProBusiness, RnR report writer and ADP WorkForce Now systems

  • Working knowledge of Oracle R12 System for HR, Time / Labor and General Ledger

  • Excellent problem solving / judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Confidence and ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Stock-based compensation experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required
