Applications Engineering Lead: Focus on High Speed parallel interface design including Memory Interfaces
Job responsibilities include documentation, support and characterization focused on FPGA to external device communications using high speed parallel I/O interfaces. Some testing in hardware and building custom designs (physical interfaces) in verilog or VHDL. Documentation/user guides. This position interfaces directly with Silicon and Software engineering, and is the primary interface between the engineering teams and escalated customer support issues.
Silicon Applications is a hardware focused applications team specializing in high speed parallel interfaces, chip to chip communication, and power and signal integrity. This team is responsible for creating documentation for new products, application notes and reference designs, some application-specific silicon characterization, and customer support
Some Background in FPGA or ASIC design required. Knowledge/experience with VHDL/Verilog and TCL. Good written and verbal skills. Experience with Oscilloscopes, Sampling Scopes, VNAs and BERTs. System design background: PCBs, chip-to-chip interfaces, layout, etc.
Desire extensive experience in system design involving FPGAs, memory interfaces, high speed signaling, source-synchronous design. Working knowledge of various electrical interface standards.
