Role Responsibilities:

At Xilinx we are transforming into a platform company.  We see tremendous growth potential in the post-Moore’s Law era of adaptive computing.  In support of this transformation, this role will work closely with the Marketing leadership team as well as the CEO and executive leadership to help position Xilinx in new emerging markets and advance our platform positioning in our established markets to continue our rapid growth momentum.  

The detailed responsibilities include:

o   Develop and lead a world-class corporate and marketing communications team to position Xilinx as the adaptable intelligence platform leader in each of our target markets

o   Create and lead Xilinx corporate positioning, outbound messaging, web and digital, and PR strategies to achieve near-term and long-term company objectives and position Xilinx to key target audiences including the editorial/investor/analyst community and target customers

o   Create, implement, and own brand strategy and standards

o   Drive executive presentations and messaging, and support key technical campaigns and presentations

o   Lead internal & employee communications aligned with brand objectives and new company strategy to inspire and motivate employees and collaborate with HR to support new talent acquisition

o   Develop a digital strategy including Xilinx.com, Xilinx Forums and other communities; define and create a world class customer experience; build out a strong digital team including user experience (UX) expertise

o   Effectively influence, align, and collaborate with key functions, particularly Sales, Product and Vertical Marketing, key vertical business units, R&D, Finance, HR and IR

o   Support key go-to-market campaigns, external events, 3rd party or Xilinx-led ecosystem activities, IR and analyst relations, and ensure consistent and appropriate corporate messaging worldwide

Key Success Factors:

o   Corporate positioning, brand strategy and digital strategy expertise in complex technology markets, preferably semiconductors

o   Proven record of organizational leadership, team development and change management 

o   Effective cross-functional collaboration skills 

o   Fast and continuous learner with passion for building world-class teams, culture, and best in-class processes/practices 

o   Decisive decision making based on clear & creative thinking, data analysis, and experience

o  Strategic thinking and ability to execute strategy with agility and flexibility on tactics

o  Thorough understanding of analyst, press, and customer care-abouts; in particular, experience marketing to software and application developers 

o  Strong attention to detail and hands-on management

o Willingness and ability to engage in all levels of work of the team, from strategic planning to tactical execution

Required Experience:
o  Demonstrated leadership and organizational experience in corporate marketing and/or corporate communications functions, or successful marketing communications leadership experience in a large technology company 
o  Significant work experience and business success with companies with complex silicon or system products in one or more of Xilinx’s targeted market segments
o  Demonstrated success in leading large-scale corporate/BU positioning or re-positioning campaigns and major product launches -- including primary research and brand studies, market and target customer segmentation, communication strategy development with a strong grasp of Xilinx’s overall business and technology strategy, and driving effective execution
o  Track record of success in developing and prioritizing corporate communications themes, and mobilizing and aligning both external and internal PR efforts at Xilinx’s or larger scale (several thousand employees)
o  Leadership of web/digital strategy with demonstrated high-quality results

Desired/Preferred Experience:
o  Experience in Data Center market, AI/Machine Learning, and cloud providers/hyperscalers
o  Experience in the semiconductor industry combined with experience in software and Data Center industrieso   
o  Experience leveraging and working with 3rd party ecosystems to project Xilinx’s leadership
o  Experience with mergers and acquisitions communication and integration
o  Familiarity with or experience developing university and educational programs to develop long-term brand image with our future customers

o   Bachelor’s degree is required, a BA or BS in Marketing, Communications,     English or related majors are preferred
o   MA/MS in a related field is a plus
o   At least 20 years of related experience, as assessed by hiring management
o   San Jose, and expect 15% travel to all regions
o   Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
o   Remote worksite arrangements not being considered for this role
