Design, characterize, and evaluate electronic parts, components, and/or integrated circuitry for programmable logic devices including field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA), high speed transceivers on FPGAs, and related hardware. Determine characterization approaches and parameters. Develop characterization and silicon validation plans for high speed transceivers. Define methodologies for characterization and silicon validation of high speed serial systems. Design supporting hardware for characterization. Develop speed binning test pattern for production. Characterize high speed SERDES with automated flows. Perform data analysis and create characterization reports. Responsible for the correlation of pre-silicon results with silicon measurements.

Education Required:   
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 
  • 8 years of progressive experience as a Characterization Engineer or related occupation. 
Special Requirements:   
  • Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
    1. Characterizing PLL, Transmitter, CDR (clock data recovery), and analog front-end
    2. Defining characterization methodology and test plan.
    3. Hands on experience in laboratory environment, using lab equipment such as Keysight Infiniium DCA-J 86100X oscilloscope, Keysight J-BERT, Function/Pulse generator, Sampling scope, and digital multi-meter
    4. Working with production test engineers and generating test pattern for production tester
    5. FPGA and SOC Architectures
    6. Understanding of PCB schematic and layout
    7. Verilog, Perl, Tcl, Python, simulation software VCS
