Xilinx is seeking a Senior Global Supply Manager to join our Strategic Sourcing team. The GSM works in close alignment and collaboration with other Global Supply Managers and Program Managers to support the business objectives of Xilinx. The GSM is responsible for the overall management of the component & Memory categories through the creation and maintenance of multi-year sourcing strategies and their associated project pipelines and source plans. This is a leadership role, responsible for managing key vendors and will report to the Sr Director of Strategic Sourcing. This position will be based at the San Jose HQ location.
 
Responsibilities also include the selection of suppliers for new sourcing requests, including (re)negotiation of competitive prices, gaining maximum leverage opportunity, and defining (global) supplier contracts. The GSM maintains an overview on the Electric Components & Memory market by conducting frequent benchmarks and builds/maintains up-to-date knowledge about processes, strategies, and industry trends.
 
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Relationship owner for Component & Memory supplier(s) including management of cost, capacity, delivery performance & contracts.
  • Develops and lead the sourcing and supplier selection process for Component & Memory category to support manufacturing and operations goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement objectives and strategies that support the corporate growth & spending plans.
  • Plans, negotiates, and contracts with component & Memory supplier(s) and ensuring that agreements reflect Xilinx needs.
  • Develops & recommends cost & supply chain optimized solutions for integrating components & memory onto boards & systems.
  • Strategize, Commit and Execute to multi-year financial accountability for various suppliers and products with respect to price targets.
  • Responsible for supplier selection process and for the approval of selected suppliers by stakeholders.
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining risk mitigation plans for suppliers within assigned category(ies) with businesses or functions.
  • Assess market conditions, identify industry best practices and emerging trends to identify new cost reduction and value creation opportunities including best ways to secure supply.
  • Negotiate and implement appropriate contracts with suppliers.
  • Expected to build a deep understanding of Supplier Organizations, Policies, Culture, Internal Methods and Processes and leverage to meet Xilinx business needs.
  • Create and own Relationship Maps, between Suppliers and Xilinx at all levels and through various functions.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, will consider Supply Chain degree for candidates with extraordinary background & experience. Technical knowledge of System, board, memory and components is a must.
  • 10+ years of experience in global and complex (electronics) manufacturing procurement or supply chain management.
  • Effective management of capital buying projects within a manufacturing environment; RFP/RFQ, supplier selection, project execution, cost and timing management and project close activities.
  • Experience & Knowledge in component, memory, boards & system solutions in both technical & business domains.
  • Strong understanding of the financial aspects of capital expenditures, ROI, NPV, cash flow, and total cost of ownership.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level.
  • Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Negotiation skills and contract management experience.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Industry Relationships and Knowledge of key players and understanding of interconnectedness of supply chains and their effects.
