We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Program Manager with experience in FPGA (or ASIC) development and management. The position is in an industry-leading, world-class silicon development organization that is engaged in high performance designs using cutting-edge process technology.  This person will coordinate project deliverables for major silicon programs across multiple design teams and organizations within Xilinx.  For some projects, the person will also have to manage third party deliverables. Responsibilities could include managing multiple programs in parallel.
 
The candidate for this position must have prior experience managing an FPGA or ASIC development project from architecture definition through production. A good understanding of all phases of silicon development including architecture specification, RTL design, design verification, synthesis, place and route, final integration and silicon validation are all required. The candidate must be a self-starter with excellent project planning and management skills in the areas of work estimation, schedule planning, and milestone tracking using dashboards and metrics. Strong judgment is expected in assessing and managing risks and key dependencies.
 
The candidate must also have an understanding Semiconductor technology, Package design, Power, Software and Tool solutions. The candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, energize and drive teams.
 
Job Responsibilities
The candidate will facilitate the delivery of the next generation of programmable silicon products and milestones from Xilinx. This includes defining the program management methodology as well as the implementation of this methodology. The candidate will drive and facilitate work across multiple organizations to ensure the timely delivery of products. The candidate will also be responsible for tracking program and product costs. The candidate must develop a complete understanding of the overall program (the ‘big picture’). The candidate will identify and drive strategic and tactical issues, technical or otherwise, to resolution, understand the impact of the issues on the overall program, and making the right trade-offs. The candidate will interact directly with customers and vendors.

  • BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience; MS+ preferred
    FPGA (or ASIC) design and development experience
    Proven track record managing delivery of complex semiconductor products
    Experience managing programs with US government funding and contracts
    Experience dealing with third party deliverables

    • Experience with full-custom or semi-custom designs is a plus
    • Strong understanding of  FPGA (or ASIC) design cycle including HDL design and verification, synthesis and place & route
    • Experience driving deliverables across hardware, software, marketing and operational boundaries
    Experience driving programs across multiple organizations, including global organizations
    • Expert user of project management tools
    Ability to define, create and automate generation of dashboards and metrics
