Detailed Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Sr Network Engineer to join our Global IT Network team. This is a permanent position and is primarily responsible for the performance, administration and coordination of network operations; troubleshoot network problems balanced with best in class customer service. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have good communications and demonstrates organizational skills. Ability to participate in fast & tight deadlines, problem solves and can multi-task between operations and project based activities.

 

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and telephony communications systems in a large enterprise environment for a global corporation.

• Provide technical and networking administrative day to day support to internal Xilinx users on all networking related issues. Also provide assistance to project teams on project implementation.

• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex and advanced regional networking/telephony problems and coordinate with vendors around WAN & LAN fault resolution.

• Provide detailed documentation including as-built diagrams, system and network designs, and written recommendations to customers and account teams.

• Applies expertise in the use of IT-related technology, processes, and best practices in support of IT solutions.

• Proactively builds functional / technical knowledge by taking on increasingly complex challenges resulting in the ability to quickly analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex and advanced networking problems in coordination with vendors and service providers for fault isolation.

• Adapts new technologies and methods in the networking space that drives technical innovation for efficiency of IT solutions and optimization of IT operations.

• Ensures rigorous quality control by meeting well-defined objectives and KPIs.

• Taking ownership of escalated issues from 1st and 2nd line of support, handling of trouble tickets and mentoring junior members of the global team in problem resolution.

• Work with Network and Telecom vendors in the China region for preparing BOM for projects and maintenance contract renewals. Monitor vendor performance and provide feedback and recommendations to global team when necessary.

• Operates within a technical culture while simultaneously relating to the requirements of the business supported by acting as the IT Network business contact for the China Region.

• Participates in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10 or more years’ experience with large enterprise level LAN, WAN, WLAN and Telephony infrastructure.

• Prefer advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCIE) preferred.

• Demonstrates advanced understanding of multiple Cisco operating systems (IOS XE/NXOS).

• Expert level experience in all Routing and Switching gear in the Cisco Enterprise portfolio including Nexus, ASR and ISR platforms.

• Experience in F5 LTM, Riverbed Steelhead and Aruba Wireless networking desired.

• Experience in Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, H323, Voice Gateway, ISDN PRI and Dial-plan desired.

• Working knowledge of Cisco/Polycom Video conferencing systems.

• Must exercise good judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

• Must be able to follow company standard methods and procedures and may provide guidance to other personnel.

• Must be a self-starter, have good leadership, organizational and project management skills with strong follow-up.

• Proven troubleshooting skills across the enterprise network using various tools and methodologies.

• Must be fluent in Mandarin & English (both oral and written).

• Ability to effectively interact communicate with all level of stakeholders
