Overview:

The Sr. Manager of Forecasting is responsible for developing and running the quarterly and annual Xilinx revenue forecast and management processes through close collaboration with Sales, Markets, Finance and Operations. Additionally, this position is responsible for the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.  The NPI process responsibilities include gathering and forecasting customer needs in the pre-production phase of a product. Working with operations to forecast the supply needed, and managing the processes needed to ramp to production.  Responsibilities also include improving and automating the current processes, developing the forecasting competency and accuracy across the organization and ensuring proper communication and coordination within the company.  Other key deliverables include target setting and driving forecast to target gap closure.  This is a very visible role with regular interaction with the executive level in the company.  The position reports into the Global Sales and Product and Vertical Markets Organization with a matrix link to Sales and Operations organizations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust forecast methodology including the use of sophisticated statistical models to ensure predictability in short and long term business projections.
  • Continuously improve the methodology and explore alternate methods of forecasting.
  • Own and manage the Sales and Markets forecast process to drive accuracy, clarity and accountability including forecasting competency across the organization.
  • Own and manage the New Product Introduction process to ensure the timely delivery of samples to the customer as well as the correct demand signals to operations in order to build the product.
  • Generate organizational and corporate targets and assist in driving achievement.
  • Work with the Sales and Markets leadership to develop understanding of longer term trends that affect the business through competitive analysis, industry trends and customer input.
  • Provide assistance in the day to day management of the business and drive periodic exec level business discussions and updates.
  • Drive the implementation of sales and business processes in IT systems.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of combined relevant experience in forecasting, business modeling, and planning. Direct experience in forecasting and/or managing a forecast process and team is a must.
  • BS in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations and Planning.  MS in similar field or MBA a plus.
  • Experience in semiconductors, or distribution.
  • Ability to work independently and challenge and influence all levels of the organization, and experience engaging executive level management.
